Some Philosophical Problems with Folksonomy
ってのが、発表されてんだけど、日本じゃ、あんまし読まれてないよーな気がする。おもろいよ。（del.icio.usを見ると、300人以上がブックマークしてんだけど、はてなは2名だけ。Livedoorクリップはゼロだった。）
内容としては、
昔ながらの分類（Taxonomy）と、最近はやってるフォークソノミー（Folksonomy）を比較して、
A traditional classification scheme will consistently provide better results to information seekers.
ってなわけで、「昔ながらの分類の方が、良いね」ってこと。（結構、単純な話の展開。）

てなわけで、「昔ながらの分類（Taxonomy）だって、ダメじゃん。そこんとこ、忘れてない？」ってことらしい。（ちょっぴし、幼稚な反論のようだけど、よく読んでみればまともだったよ。）
さらに、最初の論文で攻撃されてるWeinbergerさんも反撃してる。

ってなわけで、「彼女は間違ってる。証拠だってあるぞ」って言うんだけど、いまいち、証拠を出してないので、よく分からんよ。
まぁ、この手の論争が好きなひとは、原文を参照してね。（ただ、最初の「better results to information seekers」ってな部分からも分かるように、安易に「better」だって言ってるように聞こえんので、詰まらんと思う人も多いかも。それにしても、「better results」って、かなり幼稚な表現だよね。）

The problem is that 90% (and maybe more) of discussions about "search" only think about cold searching. And honestly, folksonomies don't have much to contribute to the cold search, other than chaos. But for the stuff that matters for me, the culture I consume, 90% of my searches are lateral. My tastes aren't organized by the section headings in Barnes and Noble. The innovation of sites like Amazon, iTunes, del.icio.us and others is their ability to aggregate folksonomy (and yes, folksonomies are the Long Tail of classification) in productive ways beyond one's immediate social network. I never search Amazon using their taxonomies. I hardly ever find sources for my academic work by cold search. Most of my life is conducted easily and efficiently via folksonomies.
という部分で、「Cold Search」って単語を発見した。（みんなはもう知ってんのかもしんないけど）私にとっては初めて見た単語だったんだけど、おそらく文脈から想像する限り、「コールド・コール」のアナロジーなんだろーな、って思う。http://ameblo.jp/netpipeline/entry-10005677085.htmlこれを読めば、おそらく「コールド・コール」が何かは分かるはず。そんで、それと似たことをネットでやろうとすると、それが「コールド・サーチ」なんだな、きっと。
というわけで、結局何が言いたいかというと、「cold search」や「folksonomies are the Long Tail of classification」という考えは、三上さんがhttp://d.hatena.ne.jp/elmikamino/20061119/1163925532で披露した
